In our reality, the man now known as Magento spent his early teens imprisoned with his family at the Nazi death camp in Auschwitz, Poland. The only member of his family to survive the camp, Magnus here learned how brutally human beings could treat minorities whom they considered different. Eventually Magnus went to Israel, where he worked as a volunteer orderly at a psychiatric hospital and where he first met and became friends with Charles Xavier. Magnus and Xavier frequently debated the subject of mutants' coexistence with the rest of humanity. After the two men joined forces to rescue their friend Gabrielle Haller from Baron Strucker and his Hydra agents, Magnus left for parts unknown. After being betrayed by the intelligence agents with whom he worked, Magnus began planning his campaign against the human race. Years later Magnus reemerged as Magneto, who was determined to conquer the human race to prevent their oppression of mutants.

Magnus's Reality (Family Portrait)
Appearances: 1
He is wed to Rogue and the father of the Exile Magnus. His son's birth was so fraught with complication, that his birth seemed miraculous and such a blessing for the two long-troubled souls that brought him into the world. As his son grew, so did his abilities. It was obvious to all that Magnus would become even more adept, more powerful than the master of magnetism who sired him. Unfortunate for all, he adopted a trait not unlike one of his mother's. When his flesh mets another's, they are transformed into pure steel. Magnus became unhinged from time when he accidentally killed his mother a week after his thirteenth birthday. He turned her into steel and Magneto, who never recovered from the loss, would resume his battle on humanity.

Zero Tolerance (Freedom)
Appearances: 2
For their first mission, the Tallus told Blink that the Exiles were to find the one who would lead them, their greatest teacher. Although the rest of the team thought this to be Charles Xavier, what the Tallus meant was for the team to rescue Magneto who was being held captive alongside other Super Beings in a Maximum Security Prison one hundred miles off the coast of Tahiti.
When Blink, Nocturne, and Magnus arrived at the Detention Facility, Magnus picked up a radio relay that said the whole facility was set to self destruct using an Atomic Bomb. Seeing no other resolution, Magneto's son transported everyone else away to safety on a nearby beach requesting that his father in this reality never be told who he was. When Magneto inquired about the young man who sacrificed himself for the sake of them all, Blink told Magneto that Magnus was an admirer of his and that, in her world, Magneto was a teacher whose examples everyone followed. Magneto replied that he would need to live up to that reputation, his first order of business undoing Xavier's carnage.

King Hyperion (To Infinity and Beyond)
Appearances: 38, 39
Unable to defeat the Sentinels, robotic guardians of humanity, Magneto gathered his Brotherhood onto Asteroid M to sail off into the stars and take another planet as their own, possibly one of the Kree worlds. As a parting gift, Magneto released an asteroid that would render Earth a near lifeless dustball within a matter of weeks after impact. After discovering that the Sentinels were taken offline by Weapon X, Magneto took a handful of his Brotherhood and returned to Earth to recruit them to join his Brotherhood. Hyperion declined his offer and asked Magneto to stop the asteroid he had sent to decimate Earth. After he continually refused, Hyperion flew Magneto into space and killed him.
