In our reality, Brunnhilde was chosen by Odin to be the leader of the Valkyries, a post in which she served for centuries. However, all Asgardian activity on earth became strictly limited and Brunnhilde wandered Asgard aimlessly. She was used as a pawn by the Enchantress, but tried to fight back. The Enchantress then magicked the Valkyrie into a type of statis, allowing Brunnhilde only to occupy others' bodies in order to further the Enchantress's machinations. One such ploy brought the Valkyrie to ally with the Defenders, and she joined their number after the battle was done, not realizing her other body was a demension away, until she was murdered and had to seek out her real body. She got better and rejoined the Defenders. Later, during battle with the Dragon of the Moon, Valkyrie, with other Defenders around her, were transformed into statues of ashes and dust in order to defeat the Dragon.

The Skrull Colonies (Avengers Assemble)
Appearances: 9
Brunnhilde was one of many unwilling participants in the Skrull's Games up until their evacuation of Earth because of the arrival of Terrax. While the newly emancipated gladiators were getting their first taste of freedom, they found Terrax terrorizing their people and launched an attack on the Herald of Galactus. Because we do not see Val after this, it is possible that she was slain.
