Eyes: Blue Hair: Auburn The Scarlet Witch possesses the mutant power of affecting probability fields. She creates a hex-sphere, a finite pocket of reality-disrupting quasi-psionic force, which causes disturbance in the molecular-level probability field surrounding the target. Thus, unlikely phenomena will be more likely to occur. These phenomena occur practically instantaneously after the completion of her hex. |
In our reality, Wanda Maximoff was a member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants until they were defeated by the Stranger. Afterwards, both Quicksilver and his sister the Scarlet Witch quit the Brotherhood and joined the Avengers, a world-renowned team of super heroes. At one point during her career as an Avenger, the Scarlet Witch underwent training in sorcery under the tutelage of a true witch named Agatha Harkness, enabling her to exercise much greater control over her mutant hexes than ever before. While an active member of the Avengers, she became romantically involved with and married the synthetic man Vision. Eventually, the couple bought a house in Leonia, New Jersey, and retired from active membership. By warping probabilities, Wanda managed to be impregnated by the artificial Vision. They have since had twins Thomas and William.

The Scarlet Witch is part of the Occult, a group that has hidden themselves in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands using magic to mask them from Iron Man who rules the planet with an iron fist. Their location was unconvered by Weapon X who had come to steal the means to bring down the Attilan G-Barrier. Stephen Strange alerted the Wanda and her companion Wonder Man of the intrusion made by the reality-hopping team. The two engaged the bandits in battle when the Spider took Wanda hostage and enraged the Wonder Man into becoming the a Hulk-like creature at which point the Spider nerve-pinched the Scarlet Witch.
