Weapon X
Similiar to the Exiles, Weapon X is a reality-hopping team whose members have all become unhinged from time. When the team started out, it was comprised mostly of former Weapon X program candidates, hence their namesake Weapon X, but they lost everyone but Sabretooth and Deadpool as missions went on. Unlike the Exiles, Weapon X is more ruthless and amoral in their actions. They have crippled Dr. Strange, thrown Atlantis into war with the Inhumans, blown up Avengers Mansion, laid waste to the Morlocks, murdered Tony Stark, and have gotten team members killed on numerous occasions.

Their group interaction is as impassive and detatched as their actions. The team even devised a system whereby the task of explaining the circumstances of their dire situation to the latest addition would be relegated to the last member to join the team, with new members unable to solicit information from those with superior seniority. At some point in time, Matt Murdock, the Daredevil, was part of Weapon X and there are two other past members from their early days who were never named, one of which was most likely also tied to their world's Weapon X Program. It is possible these former Weapon X members could have been any of the following: Silver Fox, Maverick, John Wraith, Mastodon, or even the infamous X-Man Wolverine.

We first see Weapon X attempting to capture the Hulk in a world where Wolverine stayed to lead Alpha Flight. They wanted the Exile known as Thunderbird and the Shaman, to beat the Hulk into submission so, while they were bonding with Green Giant, Deadpool shot the Hulk in the head causing him to nuclear on the two John Proudstars. Thunderbird would successfully defeat the Hulk, but the Exiles teleported in to retreive the Jade Giant before Weapon X could ever lay hands on him.

They would meet the Exiles again when both teams would combine their efforts to rescue the child David Richards from a prison camp in a world overrun by Sentinels. After the discovery that they were to kill the Richards child, Weapon X's leader Sabretooth and the Exiles did not want to follow through with their orders and escaped with David. Tracking the residual energies signatures of their teleportations, Vision was able to lead Weapon X to Sabretooth and the Exiles, but their melee would be interrupted by the arrival of Nimrod Sentinels who appeared to retrieve Richards. Both teams were teleported away to safety where Sabretooth's would make the decision to stay in that timeline and raise David Richards. This choice allowed both Weapon X and the Exiles to repair the timeline without killing David. Weapon X would carry on bringing balance to the multiverse with their new leader Gambit.

The next appearance of Weapon X would be on a world where Iron Man had spent the last two decades in shady undertakings in order to become the undisputed ruler of Earth. In this dimension, they were told to aid Stark in his plan for planetary conquest by capturing the Inhumans. In order to get past the Inhuman defenses, the team had to retrieve the key to bypass the safeguards of Attilan from Wonder Man who had become more powerful than the Hulk.

Although the combined forces of Stark and Weapon X were able to successfully storm and overwhelm Attilan, the Inhumans chose to sacrifice themselves rather than become enslaved by Iron Man. However, Weapon X was able to move on to their next reality as they were never meant to defeat the Inhumans, only to set into motion the later assassination of Stark by the hand of Susan Richards, Queen of the Inhumans.

Weapon X would move to the forefront once again with the arrival of Hyperion, a super-powered being who had no intention of obeying the orders of the Timebroker. Instead, he planned on staying in the world they were placed on and ruling the planet. Unbeknownst to Hyperion, Magneto deployed an asteroid set on a collision course with the planet and, when Hyperion was unable to stop it, Weapon X was forced to complete their mission and try to take over another world than this.

Now acting as the de facto leader of Weapon X, Hyperion debilitated those members that opposed his will. He and his renegade followers would continue their pursuit in the conquest of a world and eliminate virtually of the superhuman populace of another world before the Exiles were sent in to set things straight. Of the two teams and twelve people from Exiles and Weapon X on this world, only six would move on and the rest must die. Gambit, who managed to escape from Hyperion, joined the Exiles and together they devised a plan of action to incapacitate Hyperion. Although their strategy went awry, Blink would improvise and open up a portal to redirect Hyperion's Atomic Vision back at him, wounding him enough for Gambit to finish Hyperion off. The resulting explosion caused by Gambit igniting a massive amount of kinetic energy into Hyperion killed Gambit as well. At the end of this conflict, all members of Weapon X were dead.
